| YMCA Trail Run Presented by “Conroe’s Incredible Pizza” |
Charity Event Featuring a 5K Trail Run, One Mile Kids Race and 3K Walk

The 4th Annual YMCA Trail Run “Presented by Conroe’s Incredible Pizza” will be Saturday, May 19, 2009 at the Conroe Family YMCA. The event features a 5K Race, 1 mile Kids Race and 3K Family Walk. The course will wind through the beautiful Camp Owen, an outdoor adventure camp located on 100 wooded acres, adjacent to the Conroe Family YMCA. The race is a collaborative effort with staff and volunteers from both the Conroe YMCA and South Montgomery County YMCAs working together. The event also brings the communities together to help a wonderful program, Leap of Faith, which serves clients from all over Montgomery County and surrounding communities.
The YMCA Trail Run is a charity event benefiting the Leap of Faith program. Leap of Faith is an Equine Assisted Therapy Program dedicated to serving riders with disabilities and is located at the Conroe Family YMCA Equestrian Center. Our horses, therapists and volunteers provide physical, mental and social therapies that help our riders expand their range of their abilities and encourage them to “pick up the reins of life.” The program is subsidized through the YMCA Partners program and is available at no charge to families living in Montgomery County and surrounding communities.
The YMCA Trail Run “Presented by Conroe’s Incredible Pizza” will begin at 7:30am with a 1 Mile Kids Race, for ages 12 and under. The 5K Run will begin at 8:15am followed by the 3k Walk at 8:20am. The 1mile and 5K runs will use chip timing for finish line results.
Early registration deadline is April 24th. Registration is now available on line at www.ymcatrailrun.org and also at the Conroe Family YMCA at 10245 Owen Drive in Conroe and the South Montgomery County YMCAs, 6145 Shadowbend Place and 8100 Ashlane Way in The Woodland. Registration will also be available race day morning. Race entry fee includes t-shirt, goodie bag and refreshments.
