This is the fourth annual tour for the group, which will present a program entitled, “Choral Potpourri and the British Invasion.” The first half, “Choral Potpourri,” features a selection of choral greats--including works of Debussy and Brahms. The second half, the “British Invasion” portion of the program, features music from the British Isles, dating from the Renaissance and continuing all the way up to music of the Beatles. The choir is directed by Gregory Ristow, professor of music at Lone Star College-Montgomery.
“This is the most fun program we’ve ever presented,” Ristow said. “These are all great pieces of music, but we haven’t limited ourselves to just classical music. The variety on this concert is immense, and I know audiences will love it.”
In addition to his work at LSC-Montgomery, Ristow is active nationally as a conductor and clinician and regularly directs choirs at the Interlochen Arts Camp and teaches workshops at the Eastman School of Music.
