| Human Services Professional Institute (HSPI) Schedules April Seminar |
Seminar on Ethics is Set for Friday, April 3
The Human Services Professional Institute (HSPI) at Lone Star College-Montgomery, which is designed to provide continuing education opportunities and develop partnerships with area human services agencies, will offer a seminar on Friday, April 3, focusing on “Ethics.”

The $39 course runs from 9 a.m.-noon at the Lone Star College System’s Training Center, which is located at 5000 Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands. The seminar includes a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. (when registration/check-in begins).
This seminar, which addresses ethical considerations based on Codes of Ethics for those in social work, is geared toward licensed professional counselors (LPCs), social workers, licensed chemical dependency counselors (LCDCs), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs), and community members.
This seminar addresses confidentiality, dual relationships, Web counseling, broadcast media, diversity, and multiculturalism.
The leader for this session will be Silvia Mishler, former executive director for the Montgomery County Interfaith Hospitality Network, and president and CEO of Mishler and Associates Counseling and Education. She holds a doctorate in theology from Cornerstone University and is a licensed/ordained minister, as well as an LCDC. Dr. Mishler is a conference speaker and conducts workshops and training seminars. She is on the Lone Star College-Montgomery human services program advisory board and is also an adjunct instructor at the college.
CEUs offered by Lone Star College-Montgomery are recognized by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals, the Texas Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Licensed Professional Counselors and the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists.
