| Spring ISD Receives $50,000 Energy Savings Rebate |
|
HOUSTON – The Spring ISD Board of Trustees accepted a rebate check worth $50,484.65 from CenterPoint Energy during the January board meeting. The rebate resulted from the district's participation in the SCORE (Schools Conserving Resources)/City Smart Program.

Christine Porter, associate superintendent for financial services, said the rebate was a percentage of the annual energy savings the district has projected based on the energy efficiency of new construction and renovations.
"The district is currently reviewing our energy efficiency plan and ensuring that we have tools in place so that we can be energy efficient. One of those steps was for us to become part of the CenterPoint Energy SCORE program," Porter said.
Porter commended four Spring ISD staff members for their work on the district’s energy savings plan. They are Fred Sholmire, maintenance director; Jeff Windsor, director of planning and energy; Tamara Tillman, director of accounting/energy; and Tom Wells, project manager.
