| KISD to Offer H1N1 Vaccination Clinics |

Spring, tx. Klein ISD in partnership with Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services (HCPHES) will operate free H1N1 vaccination clinics for Klein students, staff, family members and the community at Krimmel Intermediate and Wunderlich Intermediate on Saturday, January 30, from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The H1N1 flu vaccine will be provided at no cost on a first come, first served basis. Persons of all ages and health status may participate. All persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to receive the vaccination.
To be fully protected from the 2009 H1N1 flu virus, children 9 years old and younger need two doses of vaccine about a month apart. Parents whose children will use one of these clinics for their second dose should take each child’s 2009 H1N1 vaccination card to the clinic with them. Infants younger than 6 months of age are not eligible to receive the flu vaccine. Therefore, family members and other close contacts should receive a vaccination to protect the infant from the flu.
Ms. Laurie Combe, the district health coordinator stated, “Because the flu season lasts until May, and additional waves of flu activity may still occur. The best way to protect your family and yourself against the 2009 H1N1 flu is for everyone to get a flu shot.”
