| Kaiser Teacher Surprised by Visit from OfficeMax |
|
Spring, TX. Kaiser Elementary School received a surprise visit on October 6 from OfficeMax as part of a nationwide event called “A Day Made Better.” Store manager Raul Herrera from the Willowbrook OfficeMax and employees Bobbie Douglan, Michael Behannon, and Adrian Swanson made the presentation to Ms. Krystie Marcis, the reading specialist of Kaiser.

Dr. Rebecca Lancaster nominated Ms. Marcis because she spends “so much of her own money for books and supplies.” Dr. Lancaster added in the nomination that Ms. Marcis is selflessly focused on helping children because of her generous heart.
The gifts Ms. Marcis received included a desk chair, a digital camera, printer, and a large box that contained $1,000 of classroom supplies.
“A Day Made Better” is a national event founded and conducted through a collaboration between OfficeMax and Adopt-A-Classroom to support teachers. The 1,000 teachers recognized on October 6 go “above and beyond” in the classroom. A majority of the winners serve in Title I schools. In the Houston area, ten teachers received the surprise visits.
The Klein ISD is located in north Harris County and has more than 43,527 students in its twenty-six (26) elementary, eight (8) intermediate, and four (4) high schools. Visit the district’s Web site at www.kleinisd.net for additional information about the Klein Independent School District.
