| KISD Students Achieve Success in Jazz Band Competition |
|
Spring, TX. On September 21, students from the Klein ISD participated in the UIL Region Jazz Auditions. Of the 20 students selected for the all-region jazz band, eight were from Klein Forest High School and one was from Klein Collins High School. The Klein Forest students were as follows: Johan Webster, Ross Richardson, Zach Steele, Willy Vu, Trevor Mills, Josh Gu, Eric Spellman, and Patrick Williams. Chris Padilla of Klein Collins was his school’s student selected for the all-region jazz band.

The director of the Klein Forest High School jazz bands is Mr. Ryan Barker; Mr. Jason Nitsch is the director at Klein Collins High School. At Klein Forest, Mr. Paul Worosello is director of bands; Ms. Barbara Streit holds that position at Klein Collins High School.
Mr. Bill Lakin, principal of Klein Forest High School, noted, “First, I want to offer congratulations to these talented musicians. And I want to congratulate their teachers who help make students’ dreams come true.”
On March 1, the members of the all-region band will back up renowned recording artist Wayne Bergeron who provided the trumpet music for the movie “The Incredibles.”
