Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program Hosts a Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Dance

Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program (SAP) is hosting a Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Dance Tuesday, February 16 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Parkway. The afternoon dance for adults, ages 50 and better, features entertainment by the River Road Boys. Light refreshments will be served, but alcohol is not permitted at county-sponsored functions.

KISD Students Successful in Scholastic Writing Contest

Spring, TX. In the Regional Scholastic Art and Writing contests, Klein ISD students compete with students from public and private schools of the greater-Houston area. In the recently announced area of writing competition, Klein students claimed 40 awards. Earlier in the month, the district announced that Klein ISD students earned 9 Gold Keys and 24 Silver Keys in the art contests.

Teacher Creates Coat of Arms for Mueller Elementary School

Spring, TX. Ms. Sarah Kelly, the art teacher of Mueller Elementary School, created a coat of arms for the Klein ISD’s newest elementary school. She combined elements from two coats of arms that represented branches of the Mueller family who were among the families that settled in northwest Harris County in the mid-nineteenth century. The coat of arms was unveiled at the January district volunteer luncheon. By taking elements from two coats of arms, Ms. Kelly captured the school’s commitment to unity and family pride.
